Fire! Don’t touch, I can hear the words of my mother. I step back and obey her voice for I have learned to love and trust her. Don’t cross the road without looking both ways, and make sure you do not talk to strangers or get into their cars. I was a child that was cared for, and taught right from wrong. My mother and father were strict but fair when it came to parenting my sister and myself. The plan of parenting came from God the Father himself, He made us into his image, and delighted in us because we were the family he wanted to call his own. He had our best interests at heart, so he gave us guidance in his word “The Bible” He wanted us to be happy and healthy, but all of us wanted to go our own way, and so reluctantly he let us go. He planned a day for you and I when he would reach out to us again and forgive us from all our wrong doing, He gave us new lives and promised eternal life for all who would believe and trust in him. So many children are unloved and neglected, and they grow up unable to trust adults. They do not know God, they have never been to a Sunday School, or attended church with their parents.

Our world is broken, and so are its people. We have a epidemic of drug addicted young people, who are mentally affected by the drugs they take and the life style they choose. This is not to mention the persecution of Christians at this time, who are marginalised because of their faith, or worse, still have lost their lives simply because they love God. We are living in rapidly changing times. Not all are bad changes some have given us access to knowledge like the Internet, that makes it easy to find information of just about any topic we choose. We are able to be in touch with people from all over the world, and though we may not be able to afford to travel we can watch documentaries and see scenes of countries that help us to understand cultures and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation. We are a blessed people to be living in these times. God’s goodness has always been from the beginning of time, and always will be until the end of the age. At a much earlier time in history, there lived a pastor’s wife by the name of Civilla D. Martin, who was often ill, and couldn’t travel with her husband at times when he visited churches to preach. One morning, her husband didn’t want to leave her alone because of this illness, but Civilla urged him to go, and assured him that God would take care of her. She was completely at peace with her decision.
During the time she was alone, God gave Civilla the ability to write a beautiful song that later was put to music by her husband. This lady of faith lived from 1866 to 1948, and the song she wrote has blessed multitudes of people and especially those who are struggling to cope when the circumstances in life are difficult
I was driving along to work last week and because I am alone I like to spend the time talking to Jesus about my day, and sometimes I sing a song that builds me up in my faith. It is amazing to me how the songs just flow along, and I experience joy,for the whole of that day even though my work is quite physical. I rely on God to give me strength, and to be a blessing to the people in their home. Out of the blue I started singing a hymn I hadn’t sung for about 60 years called “Be not dismayed whate’er betide” God will take care of you. Beneath his wings of love abide, God will take care of you. The words are beautiful and very comforting for people who need to know that they are loved, if only they will allow Jesus to be their friend.
I was excited about that hymn because I knew God was talking to me through that song, for there is no reason that after so many years I would remember the words and start singing it. God wants to talk to you too, he is longing to know you as his precious child, and any heart aches you may have, he wants to bring a peace and a confidence of his love and grace. It is never too late for God and you have never wandered too far for God to reach. It is a wonderful truth to hold onto that God loves you and me. He gives us the power to live the life he calls us to. In his word it says In Matthew Chpt 18 verse 12 What do you think If any man has 100 sheep and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety nine and go search for the one that is straying. And if it turns out that he finds it truly I say to you he rejoices over it more than over the ninety nine which have not gone astray. Thus it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish. God Bless Carol.
