A waiting Game.

I didn’t choose to be in a waiting season, it was forced upon me by circumstances out of my control. Some of us are on hospital waiting lists, biding our time to be treated. Others of us put ourselves on waiting lists just to get something we really want. I have never really asked people how they feel about waiting, but I do know that for me, there is a very big difference between patently waiting for a short time for something good to come about, than to be waiting for a long extended time with an unknown ending.

In the last few weeks I have grown weary of waiting for God to answer me, although in many ways I haven’t changed my position of biding ones time, a position I have taken on, because there is so much at stake, so much to loose if I act untimely and foolishly.

I believe if God wants me to act he will speak to me through his word, or through others or by some other means which I know is him, for he is well able to do that.

I have been tempted to loose trust, because the waiting is difficult, but when I think of that choice my faith steps in and reminds me what the scriptures say. I remember too how people in the Bible had to wait and trust, and how God came through for them. I realise it is wisdom to embrace this time, for this is part of God’s plan for my life,, and although I often feel lonely and forgotten I am still his precious child. He chose me knowing my frailties, and knowing the victory he has planned.

In my search around this topic I came across some writings by wise people who put their feelings into words to help someone like me who needed encouragement.

Patience is power, patience is not an absence of action. Rather it is timing It waits on the right time to act, for the right principles and in the right way” by Fulton J Sheen.

This quote also inspired me because of the emotions I am feeling right now, the author writes “If pain must come may it come quickly, because I have a life to live in the best way possible. If he has to make a choice may he make it now. Then I will either wait for him or forget him”

It is good to know that waiting isn’t time wasted, when I read that recently I felt relieved and encouraged. Are you in a waiting Season full of uncertainty for what may come about, as I was praying yesterday morning the song came to me “Turn your eyes upon Jesus look full in his wonderful face and the things on earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of his glory and grace” God bless you as you journey with the Saviour” If you would like prayer make a small comment, I will be glad to add my prayers to yours together we are made even stronger. From Carol with love.
