Every day, there are people living with the pain of a hurting heart. Sometimes that pain cripples or robs the person of the very joy of living. I know because I am still living through a trauma in my family. The types of pain or the reasons for it is so individual, but it can be life threatening. A person may find themselves isolated from people, who are able to listen, and offer understanding or a word of comfort. We all need encouragement which can mean the difference between life and death in some cases. In the community I live in we have the highest rate of suicide in South Australia. I am not sure why that is, but I think it has something to do with lack of help when it is needed. As someone who is fortunate to have a faith in a God who helps and guides his people, I have decided to act on that faith, and believe it is possible to be a friend, even when we don’t see that person. We see this is possible on Face book and other sites, so this is taking a step further in creating a space to talk.

Christine I so appreciate your imput. Just recently I became overwhelmed by a set of circumstances. I didn’t know where to turn, that would be safe for me to simply speak out what I was feeling. I was becoming very depressed and started questioning my faith. I sang out to God and after what seemed a long while he started to show me through some close friends and books I picked up, that life as I knew it wasn’t over for me. I have been learning to live one day at a time, and just enjoy the moment. I also have drawn closer to God, by spending quality time with him. I wanted to share with others who were finding life a struggle and together strengthen our faith and trust for the future. I welcome your imput and thank you for it.
